A diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace is key to conducting innovative science. This page describes how we work to uplift one another, both inside and outside the lab, to facilitate a successful, respectful and welcoming lab environment. On the third Friday of every month, a lab member picks a book, article, movie, podcast, etc to discuss a topic that is unrelated to our direct research
Transcriptional and post-transcriptional mechanisms generating neural cell-surface diversity

Website for the UCSF Lab of Jeremy Reiter. ABOUT THE LAB. The development of a complex organism from a fertilized egg, one of biology's most astonishing transformations, relies on intercellular communication. UCSF Clinical Toxicology and Environmental Biomonitoring Lab Established in 2012, the Gerona Lab is primarily focused on new psychoactive substances (NPS) analysis and surveillance, and environmental chemical biomonitoring.

In our lab we study the cancer-specific mechanisms of autophagy-lysosome activation, and how this organellar system contributes to metabolic reprogramming in PDA. We hypothesize that the functional interplay between enhanced cellular trafficking pathways and activation of gene programs that regulate organelle dynamics and function is an essential, previously unrecognized mechanism for tumor The Perera LAB. The Perera Lab (www.rushikapereralab.com) at UC San Francisco studies mechanisms via which pancreatic cancer cells reprogram their metabolism and organelle activity, particularly autophagy and lysosome function, in order to grow. We further investigate how these processes are coordinated at the transcriptional level.

She joined the lab in August 2017 and will for 10 months be working on different projects in the Bickler Lab. Her primary focus will be her research project investigating the association between intra-operative tissue oxygenation and post-operative clinical outcome in patients undergoing spine surgery at UCSF.
